Public Input

Over four years of community participation have already gone into the planning of Lake Street Reconstruction & Streetscaping, and a high level of input will continue for the project's duration.

The main forum for public participation has been the Project Advisory Committee (PAC), made up of 30 representatives of neighborhood, business and community development organizations plus city council wards along Lake Street.

The PAC has met monthly since January 2003 to advise all aspects of the roadwork and streetscaping. Subcommittees have been tackling issues such as streetscaping, special assessments and communications. The final PAC meeting was held on February 13, 2007, and ended the PAC's four-year commitment to the project.
